I know we talked about the grossest food you've ever seen... But what 'staple' foods do you stay clear from?
Fish is one of the worst offending substances. I can eat shellfish [my dad rolls in his grave], but any regular fish will send me fleeing the table. Bleck!

Have you ever tried blue steak?
Blue steak is still cold in the middle it is slightly browned in the out side but there are generally still raw patches on the outside as well. Its gross man.
Anything that looks like rubber or snot. Well mm except mussels of course :cool:
The new mussel season starts next thursday. I know what I will be eating next sunday! :cheesy:

Ew! I can't keep those down. Bleck. My friend ordered a seaford salad once. She kept taunting me, placing all the mussels on my side of her bowl. I finally put a stop to that by saying, "You know what that reminds me? I have to make my gynecology appointment." She promptly removed them. :cheesy:
I think Oysters are something I can't even get near. Pig remains are the next choice though. Meaning what remains of the pig after you get the meat for pork, that is.

god .... one time I wanted to make calamari and bought an octopus and was like "WTF !!!! " lol. It looked like a Big fucking alien !!!! I was like, maybe it could be used for bait, but I said fuck it! That scared me! Big purple octopus with tenticals and a big head! I just wanted squid! It got thrown out, and I paid like $8 for it! I was pissed! I have a seafood cookbook, and a recipe, but that's when I draw the line on seafood. Raw snot oysters, never have done that. I heard it's not healthy for you anyway. Seafood is risky as hell. I used to work at Red Lobster, and I was in heaven but shrimp and fish can go bad quick. Fuck, I saw a thing on 20/20 about food and health shit! It's like anything .... Beef, chicken, pork, hamburgers, vegetables, frozen veggies, all kinds of shit! I was like "FUCK!" What can you eat, that's safe?! :rolleyes: They drag cows sick or not for fucking steaks so they can profit. I wouldn't eat my fucking cat or dog, why in the fuck would I want to eat a god damned cow! I do, cause it's already normal .... Society says, here, have some fried manufactured animals that used to be happy!? born to die? Why don't I cut off my arm and douse it flour and say, YUMMY !!!! .... lol .... wtf !!!!
They include Liver, Sour Kraut, Collared Greens, Brussel Sprouts, Sardines, Anchovies and cooked Spinach, except, in pasta where you cannot taste it.

Cow's tounge! My mom loves it! ooooooooooooooooo......I'd come home from school thinking "oh, what is mom making for dinner.......soup?!" And then I'd lift up the lid and see a big ass cow tounge being boiled and that was dinner! *help*......I quit eating with them when I got older. :rolleyes:

Worst thing is probably bad sushi. Good sushi can be sublimely fantastic. However, bad sushi is gut-wrenchingly awful.
Worst drink ever is a cement mixer (designed to curdle in your mouth - don't ever be conned into trying one).

first of all, I cannot believe that Diva does not eat fish?!?!?! and that Aussie does not eat pasta?!?!?! My son doesn't eat white rice because it reminds him of maggot larvae?!?!?!?( drives me up a wall, he will eat anything put in front of him except white rice) each of these have been main food staples for hundreds of thousands of years for hundreds of thousands of people.
Everything forementioned in this thread, (except for the bad sushi post) I love to chow on, there is not one thing that I have not eaten. Oysters if fresh and ice cold, nothing beats them, with a couple of cold beers, little cocktail sauce, yummy. the best is when you mix the oyster with vodka and a little franks red hot. the only thing I will never eat again is sea urchin sushi that is absolutely, 100% disgusting.

I'm going to make Super bowl beer chicken. You bake a whole chicken w/a can of beer up's it's ass, and it marinates it from the inside! Grub, for me and the pup!!!:-) Still won't do the cow's tounge. Grossest thing today....My dog ate a furball.....lol. :rolleyes:

Blue steak is okay, but I prefer it medium rare. I like the feeling of squelchyness and blood as I bite into it. I can't eat fish, aside form plain ones such as cod, plaice.

Liver pate is the shit. Liver is very high in vitamins and iron, but high in cholesterol and fat. So, for women, it's good to eat occasionally for the curse, and men, if it's okay in your diet, I recommend it. I am the surgen Jenneral, and I said "EAT LIVER!" No really, it's healthy, as long as you don't fry it in lard and eat mass quantities of it! I try to grab a chicken liver now and then from my husband wanna be. :rolleyes: I can only get about one down, but the chicken livers seem to be way easier than beef or pork. (Fry em up like KFC!) :)
Cabbage, even the smell of it makes me want to hurl. Kinda like the smell of a bathroom in a Korean restaraunt.

We actually had this discussion last night, when you see on the package"all beef hotdogs" it really is all beef: beef lips and beef ass! :D also do youz know that Jello (or any kind of gelatin) is made from cow hooves? phathom that one! I want to meet the person who came up with that idea. now onto the sausage thing, one of my absolute favorites. every, every, every part of the pig ( from snout to tail) is edible, there is simply no waste on a pig, there is no garbage on a pig. I am actually getting hungry for breakfast now. ;) ;)

here ya go(for anybody who is truly interested:
Black Pudding (Blood Pudding)
1 qt. Pig’s blood
3/4 lb. bread crumbs
1/2 lb. suet
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 qt. milk
1 c. cooked barley
1 c. dry oatmeal
1 oz. powdered mint
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, pour into a large pan and bring to a boil. Pour in a wide shallow bowl and season again if necessary. When cold it may be cut into slices and fried.

Shellfish,yes. Ohhhh, yes! Other than trout, fish is horrible. However, I could eat some kind of fish covered with some spicy sauce before I could place liver on the old tongue.
I wish I liked liver. It smells so good when cooked with onions, but damn, gag reflex big time.

I grew up in Colorado and fished with my grandfather as often as was allowed. That was the sixties and are cherished moments of my life.
We would pull trout from high mountain lakes, or glacier fed streams using lures or bait. He would show me things about camping and fishing and I was always proud to present a good catch for the evening meal.
We would coat the fish with corn meal or some other breading and have a fine feast.
I like salmon, trout, and swordfish (we didn't catch swordfish on the Continental Divide). I suppose I learned to like trout because Wes, (my grandpa) ate it. I like it to this day, and live in an area where trout fishing is unheard of.

Do any of you watch Fear Factor on TV? The blood thing reminded me of a recent episode. The contestants had to eat dried cow's blood. The blood was dried in balls about the size of a golf ball. They could not use their hands nor forks, spoons, etc. They had to pick out the balls with their mouth out of a plate filled with earthworms. uckkkkkkk! It was hard to stomach watching these people eat them.
