Hey all,

I am curious to know if any of you ever got stuck into genealogy, digging up the details on your ancestors? My uncle once did it for my mother's side of the family. Didn't produce anything spectacular (we're farmers all the way done the line) but he managed to trace back to the early 1600's which I thought was pretty amazing.

On my dad's side of the family, they are "LDS", they can trace back so far it can boggle the mind..... You are right though it is neat to be able to trace your family tree generations gone......

I wish that I could. I was adopted and any contacts that I had to try and find out are long gone.

Are there no official records of your adoption?

The records are sealed and you have to go to court in order to find them.

I actually support this to protect the biological parents' privacy. If women thought that the children they bore and gave away could seek them out one day without their consent, many would abort. Although I am pro-choice, I do so to support a woman's right to decide, not to automatically abort.

Well at least you still have that choice then if you do decide to pursue it all the way. Do you know *why* you were given up for adoption?
