It seems the do gooders in this country finally have a new cause when I was a kid it was toy guns they wanted to ban. Guns after all were going to turn us all into violent murdering psychopaths. We on the other hand thought we were just playing cowboys and Indians or cops and robbers.
Now days it’s the lolly manufacturers that are coming under attack and this time around Im inclined to be somewhat in agreement.
It seems Cadbury Schwepes a local chocolate manufacturer has released A new line of lollies with a close resemblance to ecstasy tablets.
Drug authorities say the similarities between Trebor 24-7 lollies - produced by a subsidiary of chocolate company Cadbury - and ecstasy (MDMA) may reflect a deliberate marketing strategy. The sweets are the same size and colouring as ecstasy, have similar designs and boast a hit of the caffeine-laden food guarana. National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre found the resemblance to be quite alarming. ''It looks remarkably like an ecstasy tablet," Mr Dillon said. ''I think its manufacturers are trying to get through to that market."
Mr Dillon said he believed the product was aimed at mid-teens and reflected a trend for businesses to utilise the youth drug culture to sell product
Where in the name of hell is all this leading us? What is next coca cola in a syringe shaped bottle? Chocolate hash blocks? Perhaps white chocolate joints are more the way to go
