Helen Swain, a 37-year-old naturist, said on Thursday she had protested about a leaflet showing her and four other women revealing all -- bar strategically placed black stars -- along with host Keith Chegwin in Channel 5's show "The Naked Jungle".
The anonymous leaflet said her nude parade on the programme two years ago made her unfit to represent local people.
"The only time I practise naturism is in the privacy of my own home and in the private club that we go to," she told Reuters.
Swain, a married mother of three, stood for the Liberal Democrats in last week's local elections but came third in her contest to become a councillor for Kirklees Council in Yorkshire.
She said she had stripped for the game show to promote naturism, which she described as "doing everyday things without clothes". If a guy in a monkey suit can win... why not a nudist? Italy has a porn star, although I consider her a freak of nature.
