I Need Your Advice!

I'm going to start spreading the word and hopefully get some people interested in signing up. Here's my dilemma: I hate spammers, and I don't want to fall into that category. I have a couple of options:

1. Link exchange. I have a link section, but this would be a different. I believe it's simply based on who exchanges, and not my personal favorites

2. Anyone?

3. Sign up for some Top sites.

I am open to any and all suggestions. Thank you.

Diva, if you have a good idea who your target audience is and you could find sites with similar demographics, and get in touch with that Web Owner you could develop the links with their help and grow that way.

Another way is to have all us members do a membership drive and contact friends that would like all the forums, and the pictures and the open discussion. Not everyone openly talks about sex, and likes pictures and lets their hair down. A lot of women would probably enjoy this site. You could target women's web sites targeted to people with an open mind and like to let loseand enjoy the comraderie.

All the girl posters should offer their bodies to all newbies, on alternate nights. At least us guys got some-one to blame if the traffic does not increase.

You gotta admit, it's a brilliant idea.

Word of mouth is as ever the best way to get visibility for your board. I think the problem with NCT is that it is not focused on one theme, topic or area. I wonder if it has any purpose to register it specifically with search engines, etc. What would people be looking for to have NCT show up in the search results?

As to spamming: I think you should make a distinction between advertising your board in a acceptable way and shouting it out at every street corner. I would definatively make a post on vbulletin.com/vbulletin.org (if not done already) to invite people to have a look at the new site, put the board on their official list of vbulletin sites etc.

The link exchance is good if the links point to similar interest sites/forums I reckon.

What are you aiming for exactly Diva? 10,000 members?

I'm not looking for a huge site. I would like to have people from all over the world visit and chat. Basically so that there is always active conversation on the board. Numbers aren't what I am looking for, rather constant conversation to jump in on.

Exactly... NTC has always been a personal creation. But it's always been a place where people are welcome to come and enjoy the atmosphere. Now that is what it has become. My home is your home, we come here to enjoy eachother's company, talk, laugh, debate... and walk away knowing there are no feelings hurt, that everyone is friends and tomorrow will be even better. How do you make that into a "Theme"?
