Hole-in-the-wall stolen in ram raid
Irish Times 01/05/2002
A cash machine in Carlow town was stolen overnight leaving a hole in the wall of a service station were its hole-in-the-wall once was.
The Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) was taken in a ram raid on on an Ulster Bank cash dispenser at a service station on O’Brien Road at around 4.20 a.m.
A motor recovery truck was used to smash into the wall of the bank and the machine was towed away in the direction of Castledermot.
Witnesses say the truck could be seen with the ATM machine hanging out of the back driving through the county Carlow countryside.
The Garda say a white car may also have been used in the raid.
LOL, this could have been a scene from a gangster slapstick movie :)
