(AnnaNova (http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_579140.html)) -- A research scientist says there is a good chance the Queen will live as long as her mother.

Annibale Puca says the children of centenarians also often survive well into long life.

Some scientists, however, say there are too many other lifestyle factors which have an effect on lifespan.

Ms Puca, who studies at Harvard Medical School in Boston, partly bases her conclusions on DNA studies. Many scientists are now studying the way genes interact with each other to see if this helps in old age.

Nature reports that Ms Puca said the Queen "has a good chance of reaching her 90s". She added: "They are a specific genetic strain of human being."

Last year, Puca found a region on human chromosome four, which is similar among centenarians and their siblings. If this region is proved to be significant, it may protect against old age diseases or mop up damaging molecules.
Fancy that... She now knows she'll have quite a few years left in her.

There are quite a few sites that 'tell you when you are going to die'. What I want to know is... Do you want to know? If someone possessed the knowledge of the day and the year, would you want to know?

As to the Queen: the quicker she's 6ft under the better.

As to the prophet: no thank you. I think it takes some of life's mystery away. I'd only want to know it if I was guaranteed some sort of extension :)

What have you got against OUR queen and Monarch. She has done an oustanding job for Grt Britain. She has NO effect on politics, so why would you wish her dead.

It's bizarre

For the same reasons as my remarks on the old queen (see my other posts).

NO effect on politics? Come on, she might exercise any public pressure but do you honestly think your government can do as they please? Oh yeah, is not about time you would vote back a proper constitution so that all British people become CITIZENS again instead of (the queen's) SUBJECTS.

Once again SysLord you just show your ignorance. Neither the Queen or her ancestors have had any political power since Oliver Cromwell got Richard the 3 head chopped off.

Why you make, such ridiculous statements. The Queen does not even vote, she passes no bills, she is not even allowed into Parliament, except once a year to read a speech written by the government of the day. She is neither Conservative or Labour.

again, I challenge you to find one shred of evidence that the Queen makes any political decision.

The British people vote at the Ballet box, and the monarch is strongly supported (oh yes you know no one wants her because she is a Facist) She is very differnt to the Queen Mother in so far, she has modernized the monarch, pays taxes, and raises money to support the Crown Estate.

Millions of tourists come to UK each year because of our Monarch. I had no real respect for Queen Mother who just spent money, on the contrary the queen, in 50Yrs has not made one incorrect statement or action. Unlike yourself.

Sorry I am not even going to respond to this. Hopefully one day the truth will be revealed about the true powers of your and our monarchy...

This is easily the funniest thing I've read in the last week.

And yet amazingly, no-one appears to have found the concept of Oliver Cromwell beheading Richard III remotely amusing at the time. It's actually right up there with Calvin Coolidge routing Cornwallis at the Battle of Yorktown or Tamerlane the Great successfully pushing the Soviet Union out of Afghanistan.
