Oh no. Another star crashes to earth.

Sure the loss of human life is tragic to some. Not to me. Particularly someone who i have no connection to. The thing that gets me is that already somewhere in Hollywood, agents and media types are assembling a Tribute To Aailayah Or Whatever album featuring a star studded cast. You know it'll sell. Of course it will. You want to buy it. Until now, what had Ailayha done lately? Her plane doing a lawn dart impersonation was probably the most compelling work she's been part of ever since R "The Diddler" Kelly. Bah.

i see that your bitchin' has a point and i agree with you. she's dead. it's unfortunate, but it's not that important to me or anybody that didn't know her directly. or, at least, shouldn't be.

as for the tribute business, i'll offer this and no more. princess diana and mother theresa died within 2 or 3 weeks of each other. both had their main funerals televised and each had a funeral a two after that for the general public. now, years later, whose do you think bares more significance in the minds of popular society?

You've both got good points. People die everyday. Who decides their 'worth' to society? Drama. The more drama, the better chance of it becoming some cheesy mini series with even cheesier acting involved.

while I agree that Princess Di's death overshadowed Mother Theresa's life of selfless giving, you have to remember one thing. Which does the public identify with more? I am not saying it's right, just stating my point of view. I never washed the feet of lepers... but I did date a guy who wanted to be in someone elses' knickers.
