OK- where you live, are people usually responsible for their surroundings (not littering, keeping things nice & such?) or do they leave a trail of refuse wherever they go?
I'll start here in NY.
Like I said in mine's thread about goint to the races, where I live is GORGEOUS! I'd say it's one of the nicest areas for beach scenery just about anywhere in the US, at least if you look at the scenery without getting too close.
Empty a pack of cigarettes? Throw the empty pack on the ground. Tear the paper off a candy bar? Empty that cardboard bait box? Take your sandwich out of the plastic bag? Most people throw it on the ground. Have a big (or small) party on the beach? They leave all their garbage EVERYWHERE, & there's ALWAYS broken beer bottles & cups & other garbage all over the beach. No more going barefoot in the summer- too much broken glass.
The area has "cleanup day" in certain places a couple of times a year, but within a day or 2 it's just as dirty as before it was cleaned.
Frustrating...
