Here on LI, we're waiting for TS Hanna to hit later today. It's supposed to rock & roll most of thenight & clear out by morning, but the heavy mugginess has been with us for almost 24 hours already.

As of 9 this AM, it was supposed to be in N. Carolina. Iso- did you get through it yet? How was it?

I think I'll go to the beach & see how high the Sound gets. Now that I have my new media card for my camera, I'll take some pics if it's really high & post them.

Here's where I live- off the east coast of New York in the town of Riverhead. I tried to embed the URL, but it wouldn't do it.

Jolly is quite proud that a storm was named after his daughter.

It was nothing for us. But two things to consider are

1. We were on the West side of it and the "eye" never even got close to us. So all we got were some sprinkles and an overcast day. Our Afternoon Showers are worse than what we got from Hanna, so the wind factor wasn't there.

2. Tropical Storms aren't a big concern for us usually. Most of our areas have some heavy duty water removal techniques. So we have more issues with Storm Surge flooding than from actual Rainfall flooding. Now the proviso to that is there are some very poor areas inland that don't have this benefit. So they will flood pretty good. And there are some places inland that are still flooded from Faye.

It blew pretty good last night & we got some rain, but not as bad as western LI got- they got their butts kicked, wind & rain wise. So far I only found 2 downed limbs in our yard- one where I usually park my truck but didn't at last minute. It would have done some damage, but all I have to do now is get someone to come cut it up & move it off the lawn.

Long Island Sound was flat when I went up last night, so I didn't take pics. Pre-storm, of course.
