what is wrong with rock music today?

i don't listen to rock that much, but what has happened to the staples of composition? Musicianship? Talent? Skill? Perfomance ability? why do they all SUCK like Bangkok whorehouse bitches??? I can count on ONE hand the number of decent rock bands that have come out since 1995, and I'm bein' generous. and if anyone tries to tell me that limp bizkit deserves the attention they're gettin', so help me, I don't know what the FUCK I'm gonna do!

I think it's a shame that some bands are even categorized as rock bands. The Who, George Thorogood. Eric Clapton. Queen. Robert Palmer. This is what I call classic rock.

My thoughts are the same for country music. Formula music, one hit wonders sell. No heroes, no legends. I saw George Thourogood (sic) at the Little Bear Lounge in Evergreen Colorado in '76 when I got out of the Army. I was upstairs and had to shimmy down the balcony to get a drink. Great show! Not happening now. Maybe I just got old. Diva, I have ten on ya! Oh, back to the subject. Nothing is "wrong" with it, it is just nothing to identify with. They come and go, get an award, make a mil or two, then gone. I hope they invested wisely.

yeah, a friend of mine used to see good 'ole George in Ann Arbor, MI before the bar became a gay dance club. that shit is a metaphor for all the fucked up shit that has happened to the world of rock. we got a couple bouys in this ocean of shit-music, but there'll be a day when the essence of rock will shift, and its true spirit will return anew with fresh music that will scatter the matchbox 20's, 3rd eye blinds, and lighthouse's of the world. and as they return to suckle on their momma's teet we will once again have back our bars and theatres and stadiums where we may once again pay homage to the gifts of guitar and drum and to the hands that wield them!!

Man, I love the shit that's coming out lately. I am so burnt on Zeppelin and Jimmi Hendrix. I was listening to that shit when I was 15, so it's beyond classic rock now. I wouldn't mind hearing some Motley Crue or Ratt every now and then, but they're still hung up on The old, old, shit around here. But I think Alternative has finally gotten some balls and is almost metallish. Minus Green Day...I'm all for Disturbed. My new addiction.
