This AM mom woke me up by yelling that she couldn't find Sweetie ANYWHERE, so I got myself together & went out looking.
I called her & followed the meows, only to find her up a tree, unable to get herself down. About 1/2 hour & no coffe later, she finally got to a low limb & jumped out of the tree.
Ever lose a pet & find it in a strange place? What & where?

Mystery solved! I got home from taking mom to church & there was this HUGE dog here. After a bunch of phone calls, the owner came & got her- the dog is some kind of dog like a Great Pyranees herding dog. It took about 15 minutes of calling to get the cats back after the dog left.
poor kitties! Can't say we have ever lost a pet.

Oh we have. Back when I was like, 11-12 years old, we had outside cats and there were ways that they could climb up and end up in our attic, whether it was jumping from the back of the tractor that was usually parked behind the house or magic...lol Anyways, 1 cat I had, Prissy, got to missing for a couple of days. We couldn't figure out where she had gone because it was very unlike her. My mom was cleaning house and kept hearing a faint meowing noise but couldn't figure out where it was coming from. After I got home from school, she told me about it and the search was on. We ended concluding that she was somewhere upstairs. We went into the attic, called her and still couldn't really hear her that well. We were stumped. Finally, that night, after all the searching, I went to get the bathtub and she started meowing loud! She had fallen between the back of the bathtub and the wall. My dad had to bust out the wood paneling and out she popped.
She never got in the attic again after that.

let me preface by saying i haven't ever knowingly hurt a cat--but i am a dog lover --i appreciate others cats, just never want one myself--but cats are made to climb and every time i see a story about someone who called the fire department because "fluffy" was "stuck" in a tree just gets me--IT'S A FRICKIN CAT IT WILL COME DOWN WHEN IT GETS HUNGRY-- ok that said- i did once help a girlfriend get her cat out of a tree--it was a 15 ft tall tree or so and cat was in top branches, very slender tree so I shook tree and cat fell out of it, landed on feet and ran into house and hid under bed-- girlfriend was mad at me-- but cat was OK

opps this was about lost animals-- i have grown up with mostly Poodles-- not small kick dogs but first poodle was 65 lbs and second was 85 lbs so was as tall or taller than average german shepard--anyway-- we lived in NJ and poodle was black and in winter we let his hair grow and it was 5-8 inches long making him look like a 150-200 lb dog-- anyway he had run away. i had left back gate open and didn't realize till he was out for 10-15 min when i went to call him back in house-- so i dressed up ( was cold and about 8-10 inches of snow on ground) i was walking around when cop passed me in development, still walking and calling his name, cop passed me again, this time he stopped and rolled down window and asked me if i had seen a BEAR, i said i hadn't and at that moment saw dog and called to him, he came running over all happy to see me and covered in snow as he had been rolling in it, anyway cop looked at me with this BIG dob that was black with snow all over it, looked at me and he and i laughed, i asked him what colour the caller had said the BEAR was, and he said black-- we laughed again and he left
