View Full Version : Kids and The Internet
Do you think giving a kid a computer with full internet access is harmless?
You and I think alike... Very cool. A friend of mine wanted to buy her daughter a computer. But, she didn't even use email, much less know the workings of a computer. I sat her down and showed her the sites available. I showed her chatrooms [and their content]. Her theory was that her daughter would be safe in her room. Then I went to a couple of sites I won't name and showed her the teens baring tits and twat for the web cam. I topped it off with some statistics [always be prepared].
Over 80% of the web is adult. From shopping to porn, it is geared for adults. And plopping your child in front of the computer is no better than plopping them in front of the boob tube.
Bottom line... Unless you know how to block out sites, and stay involved in your childs likes on the web.... There is no need for the computer to have internet access.
[Maybe Cokera will share his solution.]
coming from a guy who first saw porn when he was 7, it is DEFINITELY NOT a good idea to let some kid have unlimited access to the internet. And I've seen parents do that shit, EVEN AFTER i told them the troubles. oh well, just another kid that'll grow up gettin' their ass kicked by society.
