THE one and only Bo Diddley died (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/03/arts/music/03diddley.html#) yesterday of heart failure. A founding father of Rock & Roll, he was 79.

RIP, Bo. Thank you.

Bo Diddley was not only a founding father of R'n'R, he was one of the cooler blues men around. He was one I would really have liked to have seen live, but I guess I am doomed to have all the heroes die before I get a chance.

With his pattern beat and rythm he was a great inspiration to many in both blues and rock'n'roll. The Rolling Stones themselves say there wouldn't be any Stones without the Diddley.

R.I.P. my man. You will be jamming with the other legends now.

More like Bo Deadly ammirite?!?!?

....I'll go sit in the corner now.

In all seriousness, I loved the fuck out of this guy. I still have some of his Chess Records material on vinyl back in Texas. One of the first and best bluesmen on the scene. Between shit like "Willie and the Hand Jive", "Pretty Thing"(one of my personal favorites), and his original of "Who Do You Love", the guy was just a blazing beast on the guitar and vocals. So awesome. RIP, Bo.
