Some residents in Karnes City, Floresville, Poth and Jourdanton felt the earthquake, according to officials, but there was no major movement and no damage.
Earthquakes in South Texas may not be normal, but they’re not unheard of, said Don Blakeman, a seismologist with the U.S. Geological Survey.
Since 1983 there have been at least eight earthquakes within a 50-mile radius of this one, Blakeman explained; the most recent earthquake was in 2000.
Monday’s earthquake may have been felt as far as Austin, Blakeman said, but was not a very big earthquake and the likelihood of aftershocks was slim.

Apparently as I slept the earth decided to throw a hissy fit. If this thing could be felt in Floresville and in Austin and I live between the two, I should have felt this. Thankfully it was small and didn't cause damage.

I'm sure Californians know how to swim. Or do they?
