Arcade Scores

Just thought I'd ask if people wanted me to prune them every once in a while or keep them as is. I was supposed to reset the scores in January... but yeah... I totally forgot. I figured I'd ask before resetting them.

I rarely go into the arcade. And when I do all I play is Black Jack or Burger Time. I'm not much into games. So I don't care.

I've been wasting some time there lately. It would seem to me that resetting them would remove all incentive to beat the winning scores, and all incentive of those winners to win again if they know their scores will be erased someday. Then again, an automatic reset every year or so does make some sense to keep it from getting stale. So... beats me!

Now that I think about it an online score system would've been nice for Time Streamer (http://www.nochicktrix.com/forum/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=13529), even though it's an offline game.

would let others be the leader for awhile till am and garm get them back-- but shit, my sobics score took me 3 hours to get--hahahahaha-but it will give you a chance to be leader again :P :)

The original reason I was clearing scores was to allow more people to be the top winner. Instead of one person (Ghram or Am) winning all of them and then no one being able to top those scores... we all had a chance at the top, even if for a day. I have my games that I enjoy playing, but don't mind trying other games.

Either way, it's up to you guys. I hope more people weigh in on this.

I want to keep them- I'm STILL Queen of the 3 I always play & am trying like hell to beat my own scores, & consistantly beat everyone else's scores on those games, so beating them wouldn't be a challenge.

Gharm & Am are welcome to fight it out in the rest of the games. I think you aughtta delete Am's & just leave Gharm's. :p

I dont know if this is already coded for you, but you could have an all time top score, as well as a monthly/yearly top score for each game.

I actually hadn't been in the arcade for about a year, and I was still leading it until recently, which is shocking. After some consultation with my gaming Druids and head Worzels and in deference to the US Constitution which forbids a third term, I've decided to allow Mr Gharm to stay leader now on sufferance, although I will note in passing that in every other game Gharm hasn't won, he's posted a comment to the effect that his finger slipped on the spacebar/the game was buggy/a Vulcan mindmeld upset his trigger-finger at the critical moment. As Shakespeare once said to Ben Jonson on their way to meet Christopher Marlowe: "Yeah, yeah."

I don't get to play arcade all that much (have to actually work at work lately). I'd say do it quarterly.

Why yes there is! That's one of the first things I wanted. Underneath the Play Game it should say (In New Window). Tell me if you don't see it.

Is it just me, or is there collision detection issues with that Arkanoid game? I've also had it hang on me a couple of times while my score kept increasing to infinity.

I dunno. I suck at that game. I tried it without a problem, but I'll look around to see if they have an updated one.

More specifically, sometimes the paddle and the ball will be in the same place, but it won't register as a bounce, but as as a miss. I think this is partly due to how the game "jerks" sometimes, and the somewhat sloppy animation.
