View Full Version : for electronically aware
Todays world is electronic. No longer are we bound by telephone calls. I say that if you give a person their own email, then it's their own. While I understand the need to keep people from abusing the internet with porn, etc... There has to be a limit. Filter it out [except Ode's computer!] and let the employees be.

are you saying to filter it all? in other words, prevent any personal email from going through? or just filter the monsterboard/porn sites?

No way!!! Just the porn sites. They should leave the email alone. If I want to send a page just saying 'FUCK' over and over that's my right. But if filtering the internet will save our privacy... They can check their porn at home. It's gotta be difficult to work with a woody anyway.

obviously those of us here know and embrace to some degree the internet/email etc.
do employers have the right to read/limit your electronic activities when you're at work? even during lunch break? and is it different than using the phone for a personal call?

Can you get electricuted from a plug in vibrator??? Batteries suck. Especially when they die at the wrong time, if you know what I mean.
Jenn, let's just leave that a mystery. Don't try it in the shower!
I am paying to you do a job. Your social life is something you do after work. You do as I ask, I pay you, use your money to do as you wish. That includes chatting, sharing jokes, but not on my time as you need to make money for the company. If the awful, profit hungry company does not make money, then I cannot afford to keep you onboard. You don't like it? Seek employment elsewhere.
When I walk into a room and people are watching media player flicks, passing around and printing jokes, I am not amused! There is certainly time for being a person, however, I tire if work being out aside because someone is online bullshitting! Morale is essential, as is teamwork. If a member or two of the team are online fucking off, I don't need them. Tyrant? No. Realistic, responsible, yes! Work for yourself for awhile, pay the bills, then give me some of your first hand opinions sir!
