View Full Version : Double Life
"I'm not a retard, I just pretend to be one on the internet."
While I love dicking around and being stupid with my fellow retards in IRC, we often have some pretty great conversations and most of us are fairly bright. Even Zack, who probably ends up making half of the comments that he does out of sheer boredom, is like motherfucking Wikipedia. I remember one day when he started talking about banking and investments, and I was just floored. Ditto with other things.
So, with that in mind, how different is your cyberspace persona from you in meatspace?
I'm probably not that different - I still make disgustingly offensive jokes/comments, can be abrasive at times(but for the right reasons, I like to think), take pride in the insanity of day-to-day life as a pedestrian and bus rider, and try to come off as smart, lawl.
I'm pretty much the same. I'm just nicer to y'all than I am to people in the real world.

I really have no idea. I think that, with the exceptions of times when we're just fucking around in IRC, I'm much more myself online than in person. There's fewer filters between the raw thought and its expression this way.
I think I'm a braver in cyberspace (I hate that term). I'm not that good with people, it takes time for me to get more relaxed with them (even in cyberspace).

Those who met me are probably a better judge of that then me. I think I am fairly similar.

I am a lot more noticeably moody online. In "real life" as soon as I see people I tend to put on a smile and talk a lot even if I am feeling like shit on a stick.
I'm a total asshole in real life. Or is that online? Haha no, I'm actually pretty nice in real life, I'm what would be described as the strong silent type. I don't argue and prettymuch don't care what's going on, as long as I've got meat and a nice warm bed to sleep in, the whole world could be falling apart and I'd be content.
I wouldn't say I lack ambition (some might), it's just that my ambitions aren't to get rich and stressed out.

I'm fake online, and I'm real away from the keyboard. This isn't even my real name.

I think I'm pretty much the same. I might be a little more outgoing in what I say or how I express myself....but not so much that someone who knew me in real life couldnt tell it was me online

Worse, baby. Not gonna tell you which entity I'm worse on.
Really- guess I'm about the same online as off, only I can be a lot more sarcastic at times & a lot funnier. I try to get people to laugh when I talk to them, but online I can send funny emails & don't have to say anything.
I can't fart online & have you guys all crying, either- that's a drawback.
