That's right... Three days. My boss is at the airport as we speak, waiting to fly out on a three day business trip with the big wigs. I don't envy her at all. Three days with people who try to ditch while you're at work. Three days of bonding, chatting and generally acting like there's no place in the world you'd rather be than right... there. Hooo boy. She keeps thinking I want to move up in the business. I have no idea where she got that idea. Bumped her head maybe? I'm fine as a workerbee. I've seen what the higher ups go through. In this business... it's hell. Even if you're lucky enough to get a decent boss there are five bosses over them who expect you to jump and you had bg tetter have your running shoes on. I've watched her fight her way to where she is and regardless of the personality issue she's a decent boss. She's done a great job turning around a department that didn't have the motivation and all she's gotten for it is longer hours, more headaches and hardly any gratitude. She keeps thinking there's going to be some magical moment where they see all her hard work. I think that's going to be about three weeks after she's left and the place goes to pot. I love my job... Really I do.
