Oh Dear G-d No! Oh, Heh . It's Just Month Old Pizza
The road to recovery is a long and uphill battle. We can't do it alone. Friday was a day of Remembrance. For the most part is was a very somber day. My boss brought in a television and work basically halted as we stared at the screen and quietly wept. When they cut to the National Anthem, we stood and placed our hand over our hearts. How fucking ironic. You go to a baseball game and have to practically shove an M-80 up someone's ass to get them up... Is that what it takes? Death, pain, horror, to show some respect to the country that you live in? Meanwhile, a bunch of chicks who probably couldn't tell you which sport has a score vs touchdown, stood and knew every word. Anyway, it was beautiful. I was drained when I came home. After the insense matter [see Saturday's rant] I was ready to call it a week. I sat down and started to talk to someone when I heard a couple of cars honking. Assholes, I thought. Can't we have a day of peace. But the honking didn't stop. Someone must have really pissed everyone off. Then the yelling started. No, not yelling.... Cheering? Yep, there was cheering. Suddenly they started chanting, "U-S-A... U-S-A..." For those of you reading those from other countries, this is more than our rally cry. It's our way of rising to the occasion. We can be a loud roudy group, us Americans. But we also know how to show solidarity. I won't back you up... I will stand beside you. This was the first time I heard cheering this week. The cars were honking up a storm. A semi drove by and honked, I practically wet my chair. Then I realized something... I had a smile on my face and a tear in my eye. I was too damned tired to go down, but that was okay. Patriotism isn't like religion. You don't have to enter a certain building to acknowledge it. It's in your heart. In your actions. Fuck yeah!

This healing process also needs the outside world. The pain from knowing people died for no other reason than they were on American soil is devistating. How does one deal with such hatred? I know I spoke of the forum last night, but I wanted to clarify something. These men and women came together in what is becoming a great little community, to be with friends. To let off steam, debate, support, and hopefully laugh. No matter what topic is started, the conversation that ensues is an ever evolving one. I can not tell you how comforting it was to go to my board and see Scranton's heartfelt well wishes. For those of you that know him... sit down. Deep breath. :) Aussie, who took the brunt of my wrath [I'm sorry], has been there since it first happened. Everytime I start to feel sad, I remember that the world took a hit, also. And we need to be strong for eachother. We know the enemy... It is not the whole race, just a sorry-assed group tainting it. And now lets move on.

Lets See Some News, Shall We?
Fox News shows number for "National Mental Health Association" for people needing help coping with WTC...number rings to Scientologists. All together now: D'OH! For those times when Hallmark just doesn't cut it. Okay, so it's not news, it's funny, damn it! Call girls?Bullshit. But enjoy the pictures just the same, guys. 12 biologists counting monkeys in Kenya chased off by 300 naked women. Sounds like an old Benny Hill episode. So guys, 300 naked women come running towards you... Do you run? Desperate Alabama man tries to trade dead squirrel for sex. Boy howdy! I'll bet his wife/sister/cousen was pissed when he came home.
