folks didnt listen that the oceans are being overfished
not only can't you get a decent size cod anymore - but apparently the sharks aren't finding enough to eat
unless there's truly been nothing noteworthy to report in the news. seems like this has been the summer for the shark attack stories - didnt "jaws" just have an anniversary too? can you imagine a marketing plan that includes manipulating what news stories get reported on
Hey! I know.... When the balnce of nature gets tipped, it turns towards us. What I love is the 'bewildered' statements grasping at straws for bullshit reasons. The warm water, El Nina, fish got lost, bla bla bla... How about we are killing all the fish with poisons, or catching more fish than we need only to throw away a good portion of it. Why do we wait until the species is endangered before acting?

Maybe the sharks saw the movies "Jaws" easy meals?? :o
The news hits the 'sensasionalism' of the attack. If it's morbid enough, it'll be top news. I know that same russian man wouldn't have made to back page of the LA times if it was from a 'simple' drowning.
But the true seriousness of the story is what Aussie said [hope you don't mind me agreeing]. Its the species that don't make the news that scare the hell out of me. We forget that we are a part of that chain. And so we need to preserve evry link.
Eco system be damned! Whatever reason for the attacks, why do people choose to swim there? Is it territorial, arrogance, stupidity? If you knew there was a part of town where you would be mugged, shot, raped, or attacked by a shark, would you friggen go there?!
