So I've been reading this book on middle age and hormones for lack of a better summary. I know women have testosterone...that was nothing new, but considering a fairly recent revelation that made me think I had an over-abundance (as I have had a re-newed interest in sex over the past few years), I now think I have too little. No, I don't have ED or a few of the other symptoms they list like low sex drive, enlarged breasts (haha...they're talking about male breasts, but I never had them as a lady either)..., BUT hey I have noticed that I'm getting spacier with age, overwhelmed a lot easier, and seem to be worn out a lot faster than I used to be, so hey, I'm trying DHEA (a precusor to testosterone)...what the heck. Oh, that and L glutamine (an OTC precursor to human growth hormone).

So, I thought I'd ask if anyone out there knows any other anti-aging tips (from your parents, I know most of you aren't that old)? I mean, I can accept mortality, but eventually...not any sooner than I have to, ya know???? :)

Oh, BTW, this book is talking about guys in general having troubles with low testosterone a lot earlier these days and they attribute it to a lot of causes. Did you know that smoking has been definitely linked to low testosterone? Yep...nicotine constricts blood vessels reducing blood supply to everything, including the penis. Did you know that ETOH (alcohol) inhibits testosterone secretion. Then I found out that obesity causes an increase in estrogen (for both men and women) AND a reduced t level. There are medications that reduce this level, not to mention stress, disease, critical illnesses, etc. Wow...and a revelation to me, they say andopause usually starts between 35 and 45 for you guys. YIKES!

I for one would like to encourage all y'all to take care of yourselves. Sex ain't everything, but it's a far cry from nothin' either. I plan on living a long time yet (much to some's dismay) and I'm not ready for celibacy and don't know that I ever will be. (I'll just have to start looking at robbing the cradle, huh?) :D

I am living proof that that is a myth.

Celibacy ain't such a bad thing either- just ask my vibrator.....

Your best bet for keeping young is ACT it! Forget all the pickling lotions/vitamins/etc. just try not to be stressed. Meditation helps. So does divorce (in my case). Always have a sense of humor as much as possible & do things that "kids" would do- act silly, ride merry go rounds, play baseball with kids.........

Sunscreen and exercise are the two biggest anti-aging "products". The next is, as Bass said, acting young. I have already started that cuz I don't think I act 21 ever...how is a 21 yr old supposed to act anyhoo?

Suicide is a great anti-aging method. You just stop aging, instantly.

They hang out in bars, get really drunk and wake up in jail.

when you are 18 and out of HS- 30 isn't as old as it was
hit 25 and 40 isn't that old

In my family history we either die at a normal dying age (60-80ish) or we live to be really old (my great grandmother died at age 100)...and the things we die from are like obscure cancers, smoking related cancer, etc. Since I don't smoke...well yeah..
