From the comments of the news section of another website:

Unless Muslims in the US are willing to speak and actively fight against radical Muslims around the world, I don't see why they should be included.

I don't understand this. Why aren't Christians held to the same regard when some whacko goes shooting OB/Gyn specialists?

Moreover, why is there such a fucking fuss over Islam when other religions aren't being held to the same standards that so many bedwetting pussies want to impose on Muslims?

The Muslims are the new Jews?

To be fair, it's not exactly rare that you hear people condemning them.

People criticize Christians just as much, the only difference is that in your country the Christians are in charge, so political policy is always on their side. Up here in Canada one of the Prime Ministerial candidates said something about dinosaurs and humans co-existing and prettymuch everyone did a double take and he lost all of his support. We dont take kindly to that type up here.

Right, but you won't see people claiming that all Christians need to openly denounce all wrongdoing on the part of their more extreme factions, nor will you see someone publicly announcing that we should invade Utah, kill all of their leaders, and convert the Mormons to Islam.

Well, I have advocated invading Utah and killing their leaders. I don't care what we convert them to. Just as long as there is profit in it for me.

I think the difference is that while the extremist Christians are still doing horrible things, they haven't been found responsible for some GINOURMOUS for a while. Whereas the Muslim extremists have been blamed for like 9/11 etc. There is prejudice against all groups, just some groups come to the forefront every now and again.

I openly denounce all wrongdoing of Fundamentalist/Extremist "Christians."

i don't care what religion it is-- they should be denounced if they are doing wrong--but since we live in a predominantly christian society, the "other" religions get persecuted more often and is easier to look at "them" and say they need to stop their "brothers" from doing wrong--plus since islam is a "far east"
religion and many don't understand it --they rail against it
and the "fact" that more terrorist are muslins than any other religion--i mean come on what did the christians do except, cruisify their own savior- the spanish inquistion, pedifiles among the clergy and such

I don't agree that the "other" religions get persecuted more often. At least 'round here and in other places I have gone to, or know ppl in. If you say you are Christian you are mocked, teased, etc. I once said I was a Christian to someone who I recently met and their response was "I thought you were smart." People make fun of the Christians often and its just like if you were commenting on the weather. Now, not to say that ppl don't make fun of other religions as well...but in my experience, sometimes you make fun of Islam or Hindus or whatever and people get upset about you being rude and prejudice against their different religion.

Like, I am sure I have been in situations where someone says they're Muslim and people are like "oh" or somewhat interested...their opinion of the person doesn't change. But you say you're a Christian and you either start getting asked about stupid stuff that you believe, or they start pissing off on you for the crusades, or pedophillic priests or something...like they were your personal fault.
