I found an interesting tidbit: During WW1 Sauerkraut was re-named Liberty Cabbage.
During WW2 there were even more re-namings.
German Measels became Liberty Measels
Hindenburg Jacket became Eisenhower jacket
Bismark Herring became Eisenhower Herring
Hamburger became Liberty Steak
I'm hoping for a Canada-U.S. conflict. Then I can finally have myself a good taste of a big slab of "Freedom Bacon", Of course I'll enjoy it even more if it's on a liberty steak with a side of Freedom Fries and Liberty Cabbage.
