View Full Version : Living With War
"The Egyptians are speaking to Saddam Hussein. It seems he's indicated he would be prepared to go into exile if he's allowed to take $1 billion and all the information he wants about weapons of mass destruction," Bush was quoted as saying at the meeting one month before the U.S.-led invasion.
It wouldn't surprise me. At all.

This was a confusing article. But I guess that's the price of war.
Damn, instead of going to war you guys could have paid 400 Saddams to go into exile, and still had 55 Billion dollars left over for an awesome week long, nation-wide, goodbye party.

I'm all for a good party
Can you imagine how awesome it would be if instead of warfare countries settled their countries with drinking contests and feats of strength?
We wasted thousands of lives. MY friends and family risked their lives. Billions of dollars were spent. For nothing?
Bush needs to be tried as a war criminal.

They're saying that there were lots of rumors and that this was one of them but there was a deal of that sort that did fall through.

It would have worked a lot better than this mess. There's a sort of loose precedent for it - I remember Haile Selassie agreeing to meet with a rebellious warlord, who parked his army nearby and went to meet Selassie in the city. While he was away, Ras Tafari's own (much bigger army) surrounded it, but rather than attack it, they simply bought all their guns from them and sent them quietly on their way. Ras Tafari then forced the warlord to dwell in a monastery for the rest of his life. End of rebellion.
I remember that day, man we were so wasted back then! I mean, we didn't even see the other guys sneaking up around us, and we were like "holy shit you guys, are you on our side?" and they said "no! we're even better! we're going to buy those weapons from you and you can go spend the money on hookers and booze." Man, i would have loved to see commander "Stinkyasse's" face when he saw that we were all gone. That's what he gets for yelling at us though.

You know, we all appreciate it's hard to resist sometimes, but really, people should try harder.
