View Full Version : Insomnia
I'm still not even remotely tired, and I've dealt with a full workday laden with check requests, patient information, and project completion along with two hours of night class, completed homework for tomorrow, drove to fill up the RAV, got news links, finished several sets of hammer curls, Arnold presses, Cuban presses, reverse curls, bodyweight squats, and bent-over rows along with 50 pushups, read six back issues of Vertigo's "Scalped" comic, and am debating over whether or not to play some Bioshock.
Shit sucks. How do you deal with insomnia?
btw, exercise doesn't help you sleep, it helps keep you awake. Saw that on a show about the human body.
That's sorta misleading, regular excercise will help you sleep, more specifically your sleep patterns, especially if you do it when you wake up every day. However, yes, if you're tired and decide to run around the block you will feel wide awake.
The best emergency sleep aid I've ever found has honestly been to do a little bit of the ol Fap Fap.

I have chronic insomnia. I have yet to find anything that works without fail. Maybe try melatonin and/or sleepytime tea. Or heck, benadryl usually makes me at least a little more tired.

sit, relax - a nice cup of tea with honey and wiskey-- and nothing else--no tv no book no light just relax and your body will escape
Yeah, like I said in an earlier thread - cutting down on the booze. If anyone recommends Percocet or heroin, I'm going to break your fingers off and feed them to you one by one.
Valiums?
Sorry. You walked into that one.

1) lavender or camomile tea
2) valerian root
3) warm bath
4) sex
5) reading in bed
and yes, exercise will wake you up, but it does eventually help you get into a regular sleep pattern...plus it makes you shexy so....
