View Full Version : iPod
My niece talked me into buying a used iPod from a pawn shop cause she likes watching people spend money and she is evil.
How do I make this damned thing work?

I think you have to hit it with a hammer a few times to turn it on.

*Hits Unfy with a hammer.*
With that out of the way and fixed. How do I put music in this thing?
It works the same way as a record player almost. You have to print an mp3 and then you cut it out around the circle line and put it on top of the circle part on the I-Pod. Then it's as easy as turning it on! :) Simple!
If that doesnt work (very likely) you can try downloading ITunes http://www.apple.com/itunes/ and connecting the Ipod to the computer through its USB port. There should be a FAQ section on the Itunes site to help with the details.
yeah, i reckon go to the itunes part of apples website....or the help section. I'd imagine it needs to be connected to your computer via a usb lead. you may need to download itunes.

you have to use iTunes. HAVE TO. That's why I don't use it. You load all your MP3s into itunes, and sync the the ipod to it.

I think you can use Amorak with an iPod. Of course, you'd have to install Linux first.

It's basically a portable hard drive. iTunes updates the firmware and makes controlling the content easier (supposedly), but you can use programs like Windows Commander or even Music Match to transfer the music onto it. Although technically you don't have to use iTunes, I would suggest it, it's just easier. Just make sure you set the settings in iTunes correctly so that it doesn't sync with your system and try to load everything onto it, choose the manage music manually option.

Yeah I know, that's how I get so much ass, I talk dirty Apple lingo to them and their panties (or jock straps, curious fella's just as good as as interested lady) melt. Plus, it helps that I actually work for Apple.

How do I put music in this thing?
Have you tried liquefying your disks in a blender and then pouring it in with a funnel?
I was going to suggest the blender thing too but then I remembered that Apple dropped support for that in the second generation of Ipods.
When I found out that whoever owned it before me had Eminem loaded into it I almost used Unfys hammer idea..

meh. I like my 8 GB Sansa. I tried to use an ipod after that, and it was so completely unintuitive. So much for great apple ui.
