Cleaning Out the Spam

This weekend I got sick of all the spammers signing up for the site (up to 15 a day) and cleaned house on the forum. I blocked a couple hundred known spam emails and deleted those who had used them. Our membership went from 793 to 414 (with a welcome to our new member danaughtycanuck!) and will be going through and deleting old accounts that have never posted. Some webmasters live for numbers, I prefer active members. For those who have signed up and either never activated your account or never posted you will have to sign up again. Personally I think it's a waste but ya know...

I agree. Usually forums have a really high number of people on them. But when you actually look at who is posting, it is usually a set 20 or so people about of maybe every 150 or so. I prefer quality over quantity any day.

yeah i may have to get rid of my yahoo account as i get 50 spams a day and getting annoying-- and i agree more people who will really talk not be an idiot
