Being a youth counseler has taught me many things. When to believe in a child, and when to let go. That's been the hardest decision. but I've seen far too many kids who past the point of helping. You see it in their eyes. It's like they have no soul.

I believe that the kids of today are more adult then some of the adults around us. I also believe that it they commit an adult crime, they should pay the price. It may seem cruel. But ultimately, these kids grow up faster, and therefore should be penalized accordingly. who knows... Maybe it might save a few more in the process.

I'll have to agree with you on this one. Kids today are dealing with adult situations younger and younger. They grow up faster and go wrong faster. If a kid does something wrong they are released to the parents, and the exact environment that created the problem. If they are old enough to do the crime, then they are old enough to do the time. If you can save them, great. But letting a killer go because of a years difference is giving them license to do it again.

folks, you wanna stop kids from fuckin' up? make the punishment corporal. oh yeah, bring back the paddles and the whuppin's and I guarantee we will see some radical changes in these kids. i know two guys that went to some kind of juvenile detention as youths, both for stealing (multiple times). One went on to own his own internet company, marry, and father 2 children. the other went on to father 5 kids by 4 women, has a job stackin' boxes at 35 years of age at a grocery store, and is still workin' on his GED. One of them had someone in the detention center that gave them little slack, watched his every move, and critiqued his every venture -- guess which friend had this guy in their path.

this counselor, or whatever the fuck he is, in that detention center is a role model for parents today. if the kid fucks up, kick his ass. if you don't, the world will when he leaves the house. you can quote that shit.

remember that Michael Faye bitch who got caught defacing property in Singapore? what do they do? no jail time, no longass trials. he was caught red handed and punished in days. 5 (it was supposed to be 10) well placed blows to his ass by a trained martial arts expert and his shit was fixed. damn. let's do that shit here. crime would drop 60% if we knew that punishment was direct and swift for being caught red-handed 'n' shit. oh yeah.

I totally agree, Red. When I see those web cam stills of teenage girls pulling up their tops or even in the nude [this is childporn, no comments]... All I can think about is the parent sitting in the next room, reading and thinking that their little girl is safe and sound.

Exactly if they do the crime then they can do the crime!!.. I was just reading the other day about a 8yr old who stabbed his 4 yr old neighbour to death!!.. I mean come on what the hell is going on in society today!! its madness.. kids aged in there teens commiting crimes.. try them as adults.. some good hard lessons for them!
