Dear Mr. Prius Guy,
I had no intention of scuffing my semi new Rav4 with your ugly greenish/gray Prius. Your first clue was that I actually turned on my blinker instead of just veering over into your lane, which is what *most* LA drivers do. While I admit to a slight turning of the wheel, it wasn't anywhere near the line separating lanes. The next time you decide to go ballistic on some random person for simply moving about within their lane, you should take a deep breath and just think of what an ass you'll be making of yourself. The last minute half grin demoted points as a decent guy, even if it was an 'oops, my bad' sort of grin. As if, that's all I'm saying. Oh, and as for the elevator incident: ya snooze, ya lose!

Sincerely,

The Rav4 Chick :P

So yesterday morning I watched a guy in a Prius decompose while driving on the 405. I was in the fast line behind some slow ass driver and flicked my blinker on to change lanes. I looked in the rearview mirror and all was clear. I turned my head and must have turned the wheel slightly (never going over the line) and the guy was in my blind spot. Apparently he was a tad high strung because he absolutely lost it (while talking on a headset) and looked like he was hopping up and down in his tiny car. I put on my most animated (and sarcastic) facial expression that I could muster without laughing and mouthed "Oh my G-d. As IF I would drive into you!" That seemed to calm him down. Plus, he started to hit on me. So with that I showed him what an six cylinder can do. Fast forward to elevator. I pushed my floor and stood in the middle, about to sip some life coffee and I heard some guy yell out to hold the elevator. I looked up in time to see Mr. Prius guy floundering towards me. He stopped and I think we had a moment. Then I cocked my head to the side and smiled as the elevator closed. Fuck em...

Love the elevator bit.

I want to love the Prius, but I can't. I feel like it could be a much better car, and still be better for the environment.

It could be a diesel instead of a gasoline engine for one...
configured for biodiesel....

Well, I meant in terms of being better in terms of crash test results (cause I want 5 stars all around) and, say, zippiness. Zippiness is of course a techincal term.

Hehe, classy!!!! I love it.

I HATE driving in Atlanta traffic. Especially with a new (to me) vehicle, I'm a lot safer and I'm a little more cautious than I used to be in my lil' Honda. I'm just not aggressive enough to drive in that kind of traffic. I signal, I give the little "go ahead" wave, just to be a little safer. HOWEVER, if I let you go in front of me and you don't give the little *wave*, I get pissed. It's just the southern hospitality in me I guess.

It's the same thing here. You really have to be careful what you do in your car. Traffic is a lot like Boulder in that there are drivers that will do the dumbest stuff. I've learned to anticipate it here by being as passive as possible. You get in trouble for driving aggressively. Even if it's relatively safe.

I remember a few months ago, a woman was arrested for shooting at a guy that cut her off. Things like that sometimes keep freeway drivers here in line. Somewhat. Once in a while.
