A Cape Cod man who claimed he was homophobic, racist and a habitual liar to avoid jury duty earned an angry rebuke from a judge on Monday, who referred the case to prosecutors for possible charges.


I just don't get it. Everyone gripes about Jury duty like it's some other persons' job. I've been debating a thread on citizenship (which will be the death of me) and can't understand how people take Jury duty like it's a joke. Yes, it can be boring. Yes, the cases can be tedious. But it's our responsibility as citizens to do it. Everyone goes through the joking motions of saying 'Tell them they're guilty and they should hang!'. But when it comes down to it, you go in and answer the questions truthfully. This guy needs to be an example to those who try to bulk the system. I just hope that if I ever have to go to court I get people who respect the laws... Not like this asshole. Throw the book at him!

I was supposed to have jury duty today. I didn't really want to do it. But would have if I had to. it might have actually been interesting. But I arrived at the courthouse something like 5 or 10 minutes late. I caught the first bus out of here and was really trying to get there to do this on time. Well the bus got me right to the courthouse. But it got me there late. since I was late they were talking about arresting me. I manged to get out of there and back home before I was thrown in jail. But there is probably a warrant out for me now. I do nothing but sit at home and play on my computer. I try my best to avoid trouble. But I'll probably be spending some time sitting in the county jail because of a few minutes. I showed up and was going to do my civic duty. But instead I basically got fucked. At this point I just feel like the justice system can kiss my ass.
