Ding Car is Dented...

As most of you know I hit a pole on Friday while parking at work. After the initial shock wore off I started to ask around if anyone knew of a decent body shop to get the paint removed and slight dent hammered out. I figured I would at least get a quote to see if it was feasible. A coworker's cousin (who lives with them) owns a body shop and works with insurance companies. I ended up trekking down to her house after work so he could assess the damage and give me a quote. If I paid cash he could do it for $450. He said the insurance would most likely be charged around $1800 because most places just replace the bumper. No way was I going to get my insurance raised for what was basically cosmetic damage. So next weekend my coworker is driving home with me and then taking my car to her house. They'll drop it off on Sunday all fixed and ready to go. As much as I want this done a part of me just wonders if I'm jumping into to it. Decisions decisions...

Heh, a couple of months ago, I was backing out of a parking space and this bitch in an old ass Volvo decided she'd try to squeeze behind me. Well, didn't work and we collided. Didn't do shit to her POS but it left awful black marks on our white Intrepid that's only 3 years old and we're not even at the break even point on payments. Luckily, it was mostly her bumper that left streaks, it dented slightly where the license plate goes in and dug into the plastic/fiberglass on the bottom. I just used a Magic Eraser and buffed off the awful scuff marks. Doesn't look too awful bad now, but it'll do.
