A good friend of mine decided to rant about chicks. His driving point was that you see more guys with web pages whose theme is based on what some chick did to them. Well hon, you picked a bad time of the month to touch upon that subject. Then again... you gave me fuel for the fire for one heck of a rant... This one's for you, big guy!
Eh hem..Let me begin by saying that, considering that 3/4 of the web pages out there are generated by males, I don't think the statement about guys getting the brunt of relationship woes is acknowledging all of the facts.. The web has given guys an acceptable outlet to vent their feelings. Before that, a guy's only option was one on one conversation expressing their feelings, fears, etc.... And that just wasn't done. It was considered a chick thing. Guys talk sports. Gals talk emotions. That was a male rule, by the way. Historically speaking, women have tried to discuss emotional issues only to be ridiculed, ignored or considered a "nag".
The web has allowed guys to open up to one another about frustrations, etc.... as long as they call it a "rant". The downside is... guys can be fucking cruel. I'm not saying that "chick trix" are a walk in the park... But you don't see many female sites going for the public humiliation angle. Most people who have sites have family and friends who visit. Imagine the range of hurt and humiliation one can achieve with one update. Statistically speaking, men destroy what they can't have. Women cling/obsess. I know that I'm generalizing. There will always be situations that go against history. Some for the better, some for the worse. Which brings me to another disagreement.
The idea that men have never been known to be monotonous doesn't make it morally right. If you crack open a history book, you might notice that women were (and in many places... including the USA, still are) considered second class citizens. Imagine having to prove that you were capable of voicing your own opinion, voting, and on the same intellectual level just because of your gender. To this day, a woman has to fight for equal treatment.
Case in point: Jodie Foster starred in The Accused. It was based on a true story. While I never saw the film, I know the story facts from when it happened. A woman goes into a bar alone. It's the summertime. She's wearing shorts and a light shirt. She pops some music in the juke box and starts dancing. The guys start paying more attention to her, she thinks they're flirting, she flirts back. No big deal, right? Wrong. THREE males push her onto a pool table and gang rape her while many of the patrons cheer them on. Once again, cheered them on. Then, the rapists plea bargain to a lesser charge, essentially meaning the rape never officially occurred. She goes on to prosecute the "spectators" for encouraging these rapists. She was dragged through the mud and treated like a whore. Why? Because she "turned them on". Fuck you.
If a woman wears clothing that is deemed "sexy" because it isn't a burlap sack, she's asking for it. you think that's equality? When I hear of women being raped and stoned to death because their shawl wasn't completely covering their face, I think of that woman Jodie Foster portrayed. Equality? Sure, I can wear what I want. But if some guy gets a hard on and rapes me, I'm the guilty party. Let me clarify something... if I wear something that you like, it DOES NOT give you the right to rape/murder me. A guy takes off his shirt because it's fricken hot, no biggie. I do it? I can be arrested for exposing myself in public. Why? Breasts are not sexual organs. They're fat. Silicone. Whatever. sure, I can stick a dick between them and get someone off... But if that were the criteria for sexual organs, we'd all have to wear gloves and masks.
Why do women call it PMS? Because Mad Cow Disease was already taken!
