(News (http://www.newsherald.com/articles/2002/04/01/lo040102a.htm)) -- It was the April Fool's joke that had everything - sex appeal, money and a Star Wars doll.

A year after a Panama City Beach Hooters manager promised a prize to the waitress who could sell the most beer, the "Toy-Yoda" case remains a topic of discussion in universities and entertainment industries around the world.

In May, Berry said, Blair told her that she'd won the contest and had her escorted, blindfolded, to the parking lot, where she received a "new toy-Yoda" Star Wars doll.

The suit calls the company's actions a breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation.

Berry sued for compensation, including interest, and attorney's fees. Her attorney has said that compensation would amount to the cost of a new Toyota automobile.

Restaurant manager Jared Blair said then that it was an April Fool's joke. "I said 'brand new toy Yoda.' Two words spaced apart," Blair said in November. "(The waitresses) misled themselves. They never questioned me."

What do you think? Did she win a Toy Yoda or a Toyota?

She should just laugh and say "oh, ok. I'm not going to fall for that agin" and get over it already.

A sense of humor, especialy one in dealing with laughing at the self, seems to be such a rare thing these days.

Plugging up our already retarded judicial system with a case like this is beyond irritating. It's not like she's been damaged. So she sold a lot of beer. Isn't that her job? Isn't that what she's hired to do?

I'm so tired of people running to the court just because their wittle feewings got hurt. There are so many people out there with real damages. Real things that courts need to decide, and they are all held up with silliness like this.

News (http://www.startribune.com/stories/1451/2823732.html) - A former waitress has settled her lawsuit against Hooters, the restaurant that gave her a toy Yoda doll instead of the Toyota she thought she'd won.

David Noll, her attorney, said Wednesday that he could not disclose the settlement's details, although he said Berry can now go to a local car dealership and ``pick out whatever type of Toyota she wants.''

After the stunt, Berry quit the restaurant and filed a lawsuit against Gulf Coast Wings, Inc., the restaurant's corporate owner, alleging breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation.Damn! Why do the schemers win? It was a joke! So was her being a Hooters waitress. flat-chested gold digger. this is just one more case that makes our judicial system a complete joke.

Yep she won and deserved, not because she was smart but because her boss was being an arrogant *sshole.

If it were me? I'd laugh it off. I dated a waitress before, they live off of their tips. I find it hard to believe that a company would buy their employee a brand new car,

There are flat women that work at Hooters, I have seen them, but they have other fine assetts!!!

But, unless that is a bad picture, she is not good looking enough to even work there!

I actually liked the Toy Yoda.!

She really did not have a case!

Just shows how well lawsuits work within our perfect system!

Not!

oh come on. The guy made a pun. So what. It was April Fools Day and we found a fool. Do you really think the guy was going back on his word? One Hooters branch is not a giant corporation financially capable of handing out vehicles. No way does she deserve to win such a suit. But i would like to see her in those little orange shorts!

That skank? Oh come on, Sonic! She shouldn't have even been a waitress. If she did this, I'll bet she was a whiner over everything and they're glad to be rid of her. If someone offers you a 'car' on April fools' day and you don't even suspect it then you really are a fool! A 2002 Toyota car starts at over $20,000. She really is a fool and the company caved in probably because court costs would have been more. I hope she gets heckled.

Doh, I actually missed the part of April Fools' day! I think I am gonna change my opinion on this one.
