Kudos to Freedom Airlines for disciplining this narrow minded nipple paranoid bitch.
I wonder if she's a member of the bible-banging fanatical 'religious right'?
What do you think? Tit the kid or not?
BURLINGTON, Vt. - A commuter airline has disciplined a flight attendant who ordered a passenger off a plane for refusing to cover herself with a blanket while breast-feeding her toddler, the airline said Friday.
Freedom Airlines spokesman Paul Skellon did not specify the discipline in an e-mail announcing the action against the employee who had Emily Gillette, of Santa Fe, N.M., removed from the plane Oct. 13 at Burlington International Airport.
Gillette, 27, said she was breast-feeding her 22-month-old daughter in a window seat in the next-to-last row, with no part of her breast showing and her husband between her and the aisle.
The flight attendant tried to hand her a blanket and told her to cover up, Gillette said. She declined, telling the flight attendant she had a legal right to nurse her daughter. Breast-feeding is protected under state law.
The case received broad news coverage this week, days after Gillette filed a complaint with the Vermont Human Rights Commission. On Wednesday, about 30 parents and their children protested the airline's treatment of Gillette by staging a "nurse-in" at the Burlington airport.
Skellon said that after the flight attendant ordered Gillette off the plane, the captain of the Delta Air Lines flight being operated by Freedom apologized and asked her family to reboard, but they refused.
Gillette, however, said the airline never offered her a chance to get back on board the New York-bound plane. "I would have jumped at the opportunity," she said.
Delta paid for a hotel room and rebooked the family on a different airline the next day.
I wonder if she's a member of the bible-banging fanatical 'religious right'?

She was probably a flat chested bitch with breast envy.

I think breast feeding a 22 months old is not okay....When a child can walk up to you and say "got milk?" enough is enough plus they have teeth !!!! OUCH I agree it is a womans right but it has to be done tastefully...

if a woman can feed her child till he or she is 2 years old-- what is the problem with that?--it saves money, gives the kid better nutrition and enzymes
i don't see anything wrong with a woman bearing her breast to feed her child-- and if you don't want to "cover up"so what have you seen a kid feeding of a breast-- you can't see anything you wouldn't be able to see if she had a bathing suit on--so what is the problem??
and bass your saying kudos to the airline--but where were the other people on the plane or other flight attendants who were offended by the narrow minded bitch
plus this bitch probally brought more attention to this woman
Gillette, 27, said she was breast-feeding her 22-month-old daughter in a window seat in the next-to-last row, with no part of her breast showing and her husband between her and the aisle.-- the only people who could see her were her husband and the people across the asile--of if you stood up so what maybe 6 people could see her-- fucking sensitive arsehole who wants to save americans from the obsene boob-heaven forbid we see a boob not on the internet when we aren't wanking off--- slight sarcasm there

I don't get why ppl are so obsessive over this issue. Sure, you don't expect to see a breast when you go out for your day, but really..its not that big of an impact inyour day to day life. Don't like it, look away.
When I have kids I will breast feed 'em (maybe not til theyre 2, but at least for 6 months...).
It's the best way anyways...

Well that boob might have been a gel implant and a possible bomb. It could have gone off and splattered that baby everywhere!!! It's not the babies fault that its mother is a possible terrorist.
Lots of sarcasm.
Thank goodness there's no flaming on this board... because none of you are going to like what I have to say.
I don't want to see someone breast feeding their kid. I don't give a rats ass about nutrition, it's natural, etc... I've always felt this way. While I feel the flight attendant over reacted by booting them off, I think the mother should have covered up, even if only partially. Anyway, that's my two cents.
If it grosses you out, it's understandable. There is something strangely leech-like about a child sucking on a mother's breast.
Then again, I feel the same way about people who say that childbirth is beautiful, because to me, childbirth is like a scene from a fucking David Cronenberg film. There's blood, screaming, chaos, and all of a sudden another human being pops out of a human being's vagina.
However, if it's the naked tit you're all up in arms about, that's pretty stupid.
Not as stupid as nurse-ins, though. Those are like lame-ass soccer-mom wannabe coup d'etats.
If a mother want to nurse her child, fine. Just cover-up. Some people don't wanna see it, and I don't give a shit what the law says. Show some respect to other people. You have the right to feed your baby, and I have the right not to lose my lunch.
It really doesn't bother me at all. Feed the kid. I'd rather a lady have her breast out and be feeding the baby than listening to it scream.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm...as a mother who did breast feed...I am, of course, all for breast feeding your child but I do think it should be done tactfully and with some degree of taste.
I've breastfed in public before if there was no way out of it, but I would always cover up...if simply for no other reason than that I dont want pervs ogling my boobs.
Sooooooo, my opinion...
breastfeeding - go for it, its natural....baring ur boobs while doing it...mmmmm, use a blanket. I do think the stewardess was wayyyyyyyyy overreacting on this though.

There is nothing wrong with breast feeding. It's just to me when a child can walk up to you and lift your shirt asking "got milk?" I think they are old enough to drink from a cup expecially in public...Now what you do in your home is a different story and if you wanna breast feed til 5 whatever but in public it is not right. I think even when you breast feed in public you should do it tastefully and cover up..I think its great to be able to breast feed and it is natural BUT when I'm shopping in Walmart and turn down the shoe isle I do not wanna see a tit hanin out with your baby latched on....True story it happened to me

I agree...if your kid can come up to you, ask for it, lift your shirt and literally do it all on his own...he might be too old and thats kinda gross.
I think every woman who has ever breast-fed a child will agree that it can be done tastefully, tactfully, and in a manner in which people would have a hard time knowing it's even going on. A woman who is going to nurse her child in public should be more than willing to use a blanket to keep the moment as private as possible. Most of them probably would do that from the get-go, too.
I know it's not necessarily the topic of this thread, but I don't understand breastfeeding children that old, either. Breast milk is healthy, yes, but by the time children hit the year mark, it's just no longer necessary. That nutrition can be obtained via real food. That's why babies grow teeth. There's something creepy about a 2+ year old nursing to me.

Damn, missed my chance.

How is it nasty? You drink the same thing from a cow and pay more for it than gas costs.
Yeah. While they both serve a purpose as udders, breasts are more aesthetically pleasing.
Plus if a woman had six nipples sticking out of the same breast, I'd be unbelievably aroused disgusted. Absolutely, completely disgusted. Deplorable. Vile. Reprehensible.
