I had just read that firefox beta 2 is out so I'm trying it out now, any of you doing the same or am I the only geek.

So far it's nothing special. Have to see what's special about this version

I'm always wary of trying Betas. I seem to always find the bugs. Have you noticed anythig different? Do they say it's better in some way? I hope they fix the FLASH/QUICKTIME problem. I kept having to install those the last time I upgraded.

I've been using it for the past two days and I haven't encountered any problems. It's working better than camino was.

I've played some flash and quicktime without problems.

I'm using a mac rather than a pc so this may change things a little compared to your user experience

Agreed.

Seconded for truth. The flash/QT shit drove me crazy.

If you want to test it you can, see whether this time it works better.

I've had one crash out of seven sessions so far ;)

Ewwww. That's not good. I'll wait til it gets a tad more stable. I also hope they fix the annoying memory leak.

So far no more crashes so I'm happy with this newer version of firefox

That's actually not that bad. I had a shitty couple of days last week where Firefox refused to work for me in regards to a few sites, and I was ready to scream and throw shit. Thankfully it noticed the impending doom and calmed down, but it was still unbelieeeeevably frustrating.

Hell, I'd have taken one out of seven crashes at that point. It literally crashed on me EVERY TIME I OPENED IT for about twenty minutes. I got pissed off and went to the bedroom to read a book.

Coincidentally, William Gibson's "Neuromancer" is a lot better the third time around. :P

haha, so the browser crashing was actually a good thing since you took some time to read.

It's like when I lived in England the first time. No internet access at home so I read quite a few books at the time.

That's what kills, is that once we get so frustrated by technology, we head back to more Luddite roots. :P

That's what gives me such a contradiction about technology. I'm a huge cyberpunk/tech fan, but I hate technological advances at the same time. Fucked up.

It's normal. We've got to keep something in the physical world, not just the virtual.
