At least once a day, I get these flashes of pureness & clarity that seems (in my mind) that everything has lined up just perfect in my mind, & the picture that should be taken by a camera just forms in my mind. Ever have visions like that?
The picture I use for my avatar was one of those, as were quite a few other pictures I've taken, but the ones I've missed are way more numerous than the ones I've managed to get in the camera.
Yesterday afternoon my son & I took my 2 granddaughters to a small circus in the small 'city' they live in. It was held next to a local school & was a benefit for the school band. There were clowns (one of whom played an AWESOME sax- and I DO mean AWESOME!), a dog show, acrobats, a guy blown out of a cannon, a horse & camel show, & all kinds of other fun things going on.
Then there was a tent that was loaded with animals the kids could feed- ponies, goats, potbelly pigs, a young zebra, all kinds of things, but my favorite (and the ones I was DETERMINED to get into to pet) were the two young giraffes that were in there. My son bought carrots to feed them, I got to rub the friendlier one's nose, & then my son got to lift the girls up to feed them carrot sticks.
First Cori (5) got to feed them & her eyes were bugged open about as big as they could be at how gentle they were.
Then he picked up the 3 1/2 year old, Laurel, & her little hand reached out with the carrot and this looooong neck bent down with a huge head on the end of it & the giraffe stuck his tongue out & very gently took the carrot piece from her little hand. The look on her face was just priceless. Blond curls shining in the bright light, blue eyes wide, she got this huge smile on her face & turned very pink & her dimples appeared in her plump little cheeks as she exclaimed "I DID IT! I FED HIM!"
Happy kids. Priceless.
