Every year (and almost every office celebration) my boss finds a way to NOT be around. Some say its because she's cheap. Others say its because she doesn't want to extend personal emotion. So of course she's made appointments for herself ALL day today, the day before my birthday. I'm not sure if they're going to celebrate it or not for me at work, but still... Her passing comment as she left was 'See you on Thursday'. No 'Have a great day off celebrating your birthday'. Not even a mention of it. And to prove Karma loves to fuck with me I was bitching about it on the elevator down last night.
Me: So guess who's NOT going to be around tomorrow to wish me will on my birthday
Coworker: Who?
*elevator opens*
Me: *boss' name*! Not even a happy birthday.
And then I look forward to see the door closing on the other elevator with my boss looking at me. Oy.
