Why do they do this?

I went down to a friend's house last night and hung out, had a few beers. Well, we were all looking through some pictures, and we noticed that we didn't have any with the three of us. I pulled out the digi and my buddy's mom took a picture of us. Here's my question: Why is it people ask questions just when they're pushing the button to take the picture? They know someone, namely the person who owns the camera, is going to asnwer them! I look like a freaking idiot!!

You look a bit like one of my ex-colleagues on the prison library team, Boozer. Inmates tended to be wise enough not to mess with him, although he did get a milk carton in the face one night.

I've got some really bad ones of me talking to someone when someone else is taking a picture. It looks like I'm going "DURRRRRR"...pretty bizarre.
