So today started my last semester of college. I go in to my first class at 9am and sit through most of the dull drone of the instructor's voice - mostly by zoning out. I suddenly realize he just said my name, and I almost panic as I try to figure out what it is he asked me. Luckily, I wasn't asleep, because I was able to put 2 and 2 together based on the slide show he was presenting and what he was talking about, of which I caught bits and pieces of. I bullshitted my way through it and I guess he was happy with the answer, because he thanked me and moved on.

hahaha... staff meetings...man, sometimes those things are just way too long, too boring and right after lunch....yesterday actually, totally did the eye rolling in the back of my head bit...but had to listen for the NEXT so I could flip slides (yes, i'm a bitch), luckily I never actually passed out.

been through many a class where the eyelids started getting way too heavy and I cold hardly keep them open....although I can't remember a time when I was called on during one of those episodes....but today was the first day of my last semester as well....and it's already starting to freak me out that it's this close to the end....

If there is a chance of me sleeping through class, I make sure I have something with me to drink. Every time I start to drift off, I take a sip. The physical motion of picking something up and drinking it wakes me up again for a moment and if it's something like a juice, the blood sugar boost helps keep me awake as well. The only problem is the frequent dashing to the bathroom between classes if I have back-to-backs. A secondary benefit is that I stay better hydrated, which means my brain works better and I learn more.

that doesnt work for me anymore, it did when was a freshman, but now if I start falling asleep during a class I need to actually move around, preferrably get up and walk around somewhere, in order to snap out of it.

Hmmmm.....I'm taking 3 different art classes this semester, could bring a whole new meaning to the term "performance art."

Hmmm, can't think of a time I fell asleep in class. Though yesterday, I had a 4 hour English Lecture in which I played World of WarCraft the whole time. Love that wireless connection on campus. :D

I've zoned out many a time in school, but the material was so fucking easy and the teachers were so busy catering to the lowest common denominator of yokel moron that I could have probably drooled out the correct answers on the desk while sleeping.
